Are you ever tempted to do more with your life? Perhaps you get bored easily. Maybe you wonder if you can be more spontaneous today…

We may find it easy to settle for a normal daily routine, but sometimes we can get bored of it and wish for something more. Trying something new can be intimidating, especially for the reserved.

You can definitely become more spontaneous if you feel the need to do so, and it’s not uncommon. Organizing is a big part of your life, but would you like to know how you can be spontaneous and try new things? It is not too late to start even if we sometimes feel like we aren’t doing enough or regret not doing certain things.

How To Stop Being Bored And Be Spontaneous

If you are having trouble trying new things or saying yes more often, there are a few things you can do to help change your outlook. Having a daily Law of Attraction routine and relaxing time for yourself is great, but it’s easy to become bored and need to change their routines, which is also a good thing.

I will discuss what you can do to become more spontaneous and hopefully not be so bored with your life as you feel right now.

1. Pick The Behaviours And Actions You Want To Change

It can be nice to have your own daily routine and activities that you enjoy doing each day. However, there may be some things you do just to pass the time or because it’s what you are used to doing. It would be a great start to make a list of things you do daily, then start to decide what you would like to change.

If, for instance, you want to take up dance classes (but you’ve been too busy), and you find that most evenings you come home and watch TV for 2 hours, this could be a chance to change that behavior once a week and take up the class you want to do.

This is just an example, but writing down your daily routine can really help you. You can then decide if there are things you are doing just to pass the time, and decide what you can do to change it.

2. Let Go Of Any Limiting Beliefs

During our life, we can develop many limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs can stop you from doing certain things as we normally put ourselves down. For example, you may have a limiting belief that you can’t try to play badminton because “you aren’t good enough” or “you never used to be good at sports”.

These are self-limiting beliefs and can be changed. Try and recognize any limiting, unhelpful beliefs you have and start to learn to ignore them and push yourself out of your comfort zone.

This can help you to hopefully start to be more spontaneous and try new things, which should help with boredom too.

3. Try And Make Immediate Plans

This can be quite hard to do if you are used to planning ahead, but this could be beneficial for you if you want to become more spontaneous. You might find yourself saying “we will do that next month” or “maybe we should book a holiday at the end of the year” etc. Try and swap this with immediate action.

Instead of putting off going out with a friend for a few weeks, if they ask you that day, and you can, don’t be afraid to just say yes and go for it. Maybe go somewhere new and explore; this could also be easier as you will be with someone else and not on your own.

This may seem difficult, but if you can start living in the present and spend less time planning to do things you could be doing now but putting it off, you may be surprised by just how many new things you can try. This can help you to be more spontaneous and stop being bored.

4. Start Listening To Your Gut

Just like with our limiting beliefs, we also have our gut instinct. Sometimes, when trying to be spontaneous, you may hear the rational, over-anxious voice in your head questioning your decision. For example, “Should I be doing this?”, “What if something goes wrong?” or “What if you embarrass yourself?”.

This voice is common for a lot of people who worry about others or are quite cautious. If you can learn to ignore the doubt that pops up and listen to your gut, you should start to become more spontaneous.

Try to recognize and listen to your gut, this is the feeling you get without even thinking about it. Perhaps a certain situation comes up and your gut is saying to do it, and before you let the doubt creep in, you say yes and try something new (and have a great time doing it).

The possibilities can be endless when you start listening to your own gut!

5. Begin Small

You don’t have to do something big and scary to start with when you want to be more spontaneous or try new things. Traveling the world is not always feasible for everyone, even if you wanted to. If you are looking to be spontaneous, you should start small.

I mentioned earlier that changing little things in your daily routine can help you break out of boredom and discover new things. If you start with small, spontaneous activities you can start to feel more comfortable with planning less and then build yourself up to bigger things.

Doing this, along with learning how to get rid of your limiting beliefs and worries, are all great steps to take in order to become less bored with your life and getting out to try new things.

6. Create A “Do Something” List

A “Do Something” List, or even a jar filled with ideas, can help you try new things. If you have questions about what you want to do, this will help.

Putting them all in a list, or in a jar, will make it easier to remember.

If you’re sitting around at home, bored, you can go to your list, or jar, and pick something.

Even though you don’t know which you’ll choose, you have the idea and the time to get started, so there’s little stopping you!

Practice these steps, and you’ll probably start to see how easy it is to be more spontaneous, try new things, and have less boredom. We know that limiting beliefs and doubt can be hard to overcome, but trying to recognize them and practice our other steps can help.
